A LITTLE EXTRA…

Monthly Archives: February 2012

Heart-Shaped Sandwiches; Working Parents; Price Improvement

My Schedule…and a little extra: Today was a rush to get out of the house…everything took longer and it occurred to me on the way to dropping my son off at school that I didn’t even wish my wife Happy Valentine’s Day…not proper like anyway. After all, we had to make time to make sandwiches for the boy’s entire class and of course, they had to be cut into heart-shapes. Crazy is the life of two working parents with little ones…. In economic news: There has already been a price improvement this morning…I haven’t even had a chance to research what’s going on…but I’ll take it! My Schedule: I’m behind the computer until 1:30p, then volunteering at my daughter’s school and then available after 3:00p. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Kiss, Travel Mama, Rates

My Schedule…and a little extra:   While listening to Kiss by Prince, I tried explaining to my son (4) that Prince was not a girl…but he just wouldn’t have it…”NO DADDY, THAT’S A GIRL!”    |   My wife, The Travel Mama, is now writing for MSNBC Today Travel…her first article is here…pretty cool.   In economic news:  There are a ton of reports out this week, but the most compelling to me is the release of the Fed’s meeting minutes on Wednesday which can always move the markets, particularly if something is in there that was not previously disclosed, and, on Thursday is the Jobless claims.  For now, things appear stable.   My Schedule:  I’m behind the computer all morning and then out and about this afternoon….

Valentines Day Dinner…oooohhh-5-course Meal with Wine Pairings!

Valentine’s Day with the Mrs.  We had a 5-course dinner at The Wine Vault in San Diego. Oh yeah, and don’t forget the wine pairings for each course. It’s decadence at its best within reason…this place has reasonable prices for the experience…I LOVE it here.

New Job, Jury Duty, Economic News

My Schedule…and a little extra: Well, I’m settled in at my new job. I left a bank selling all portfolio products and came back to a Fannie lending institution…this industry certainly has me accustomed to change. I am getting more familiar with InterBank guidelines and operational quirks and will do my best to advise accordingly. | I had jury duty this morning. They provide a call-in number to see if attendance is required. However, when I called the number I misunderstood the message and so, like a ding-dong, I drove downtown, parked for $10, and of course my attendance was indeed not required. Nice eh? In economic news: there was a lot of activity yesterday…Jobless Claims decreased, the 30-yr bond auction went well, but traders felt bully on stocks and as a result, rates worsened slightly. This morning Chairman Bernanke speaks at the Homebuilders Show…every time he speaks it’s scary because rates could move. However, nothing has made rates move much in the last 4 months or so. My Schedule: I’m behind the computer all day…I’ll probably duck out a little early for Happy Hour with the neighbors…let me know if you have any questions….
